How to survive being asked about your college applications at family dinners

Thanksgiving, like many family dinners, can sometimes involve well-intentioned family members prying just a little too much, maybe even bombarding your high school senior with questions like “Where are you applying?”, “Which school is your top choice?” and “What did you write your essay about?” It’s a good idea for your child to plan their response – do they want to answer these questions, which can open up a whole Pandora’s box of comments, or have a ready-made quip about keeping it all a secret so as not to jinx the process.
